Who says vegans can’t barbecue? We’re here to debunk the myth that a good old fashion BBQ is only for carnivores with this delicious vegan BBQ recipe.

In the video above celebrity chef and lifelong vegan Ayinde Howell is showing us how to make Cuban-style seared corn with cashew queso. It’s so good, even your meat-eating, cheese-loving friends will enjoy.

To get started, you’re going to want to boil your corn for about 3-5 minutes before you grill it. While that’s happening, start making your rub. Begin by heating up your griddle. While that’s getting hot, whisk together lemon juice, chili powder, paprika, sea salt and olive oil.

Once your corn is done boiling, give it a good roll around in the rub. Then, just place it on the grill. While’s it’s sizzling away, start preparing your cashew queso!

In a food processor, pulse together cashews, olive oil, lemon juice, whole cumin seed, salt and water. Sprinkle some on the corn, and you have yourself a vegan-approved barbecue classic that will become a staple at every outdoor party.
