In case you have been kept in the dark, there is so much more to peanut butter than a plain, old PB&J. As a matter of fact, when it comes to peanut butter, the possibilities are truly endless. After all, there is a reason why Americans have so much love for this creamy – and sometimes crunchy – spread and what’s a better time to celebrate our love for it then the day before National Peanut Butter Day (January 24).

However, it’s important to note that not all peanut butters are created equally. For example, we wouldn’t really recommend going out and buying yourself a jar of JIF peanut butter (as delicious as it may be) but instead opting for self-churned options or simply looking for jars that have peanuts labeled as the one and only ingredient. No salt, no sugar, no “palm fruit oil” – just the plain deliciousness of peanuts.

If you’re allergic to peanuts as many people are, opt for alternatives such as almond, cashew or even hazelnut butters. All these recipes will be just as sweet, delicious and healthy in comparison to some store-bought options.

Does this not look positively decadent? While it certainly is, it is also worth noting that the ingredients in this no-bake peanut butter pie are also incredibly wholesome. The filling is essentially peanut butter and bananas, while the crust is made almost solely of nuts such as walnuts, pecans, and cashews. Top with dark chocolate chips and make sure they’re vegan! This looks like it could comfort us on a late Friday night.
