We’re  all about cutting down on waste. A great way to do that is to make items that you can reuse over and over again, like these homemade disinfecting wipes.

In the video above, Laurie March and Meg Allan Cole are showing us how easy it is to create our own reusable disinfectant cleaning wipes.

To get started, you need: an old flannel shirt, 1/2 cup of purified water, 1/2 cup of vinegar, a jar that seals, a measuring cup, scissors and lemon and lavender essential oils.

You’ll add your water and vinegar to the jar first. Then, you’ll add drops of the oils as well. The oils will not only make the solution smell great, they also aid in keeping the germs away!

Next, cut your flannel shirt into 6 x 6 inch pieces. The ladies are using flannel because it’s a super sturdy material. Then, toss your flannel pieces into the jar, seal and shake them up!

You’ll be able to keep the wipes in the jar until you need to use them. When you’re done using, simply toss in the wash, and repeat. You’re likely to get 15 or so wipes out of one shirt. Depending on how frequently you use them, that could last you a whole month!

If you’re as obsessed with this idea as we are, you may want to give these as a gift. You’ll learn how to do that by watching the video as well!

Will you give these homemade disinfecting wipes a try?
