Are you happy with the way you look? Is there anything you would change about your body? I’m sure there are things we would all want to change but to have someone else point that out to you on a daily basis? This is what Cassey Ho goes through constantly.
Cassey Ho is a certified fitness instructor, the founder of Blogilates and the creator of several workout videos with 2 million YouTube followers. Although she is fit, thin and in shape, she has insecurities and is even a victim of cyber bullying and body shaming. Over the years Ho had to learn to grow tough skin and get over it but recently the comments on her videos have been so bad that she just felt terrible about herself.
“It’s hard to be content with the shape of your body when people are constantly telling you how fat you are, how much weight you need to lose, how much weight you need to gain…literally what do people want? The body shaming, the mean comments, the cyber bullying – all of this messes with us…and it hurts.”
“So what if I changed? What if I had a slimmer waist and a bigger butt? Would everyone be happy then? What if I lived in a world where I could photoshop my body in real life? Would I be happy then?”
– Cassey Ho
In the video below, you will see Ho, the comments she has received by real people and her self esteem go straight into the ground. The video was made to express how peoples negative comments affect others, and it sends a very powerful message.
This compelling video is a reminder that we should only strive for the best versions of ourselves and we are beautiful just the way we are. It should never matter what other people think or say.
